The super success of the 3D movie Avatar accompanied with the great boom in 3D technology (it being used in almost all screens) has helped in making the 3D TV the most sought after entertaining device. Increasing demand has lead to a healthy competition between the major brands with regard to the prices. Below are listed the 3D TVs price of the leading manufacturers to help you choose better:
Samsung first 3D TV (with glasses), the 46-inch UNC7000 has a price tag of $2350. A C7000 46-inch model is priced at $2000 and the 55-inch model at $3300. The C8000 series costs around $2800 to $5000 for its 46-inch and 55-inch models. Indeed Samsung has had a record number of more than 2 million units sold in less than a year and that has helped a lot to bring down its price. At Amazon, you can get a 46” Samsung LED TV for $918 and a 47” LG LED TV for only $997.82!
Sony BRAVIA XBR-LX900 comes in two sizes – 52-inch TV priced at $4000 and the 60-inch one priced at $5000. The XBR-HX909 series costs $4000 for the 52-inch TV and $3500 for the 46-inch. The KDL-HX800 55-inch, 46-inch and the 40-inch models are priced at $3400, $2700 and $2100 respectively.
LG has priced its 32-inch LE5400 at $899.99 while the 47-inch LX6500 costs $2699.99 and the 55-inch LX6500 $ 3599.99. The very popular LG INFINIA series costs $4300 for the 47LX9500 model, $2599.99 for the 60-inch PX950, $5400 for the 55-inch LX9500 and $4300 for the 47-inch LX9500.
Panasonic started with quite expensive 3D TVs but has plans to cut down on the prices drastically in order to keep up with the prices of the other brands especially Samsung. It is said that Panasonic is likely to give as much as a 50% discount on its 3D TV prices in the US. So, the 50-inch 3D model (which includes a Blu-Ray player and 3D glasses) is expected to be priced at $2500 in the US whereas the same model costs $4800 in Japan. However its gigantic 103” THP103MT2 Plasma TV with 3D support is priced at a ridiculous amount of more than $100,000!
