During the past decade there has been many new eco friendly products and ideas that has made it so just about every market has the ability to go green, one market in particular, is laundry, and now has an ecofriendly alternative to detergent this is called a laundry ball. You may be thinking, what are these wash balls? Laundry balls were made all in all to replace the use of detergent. Instead of detergent, laundry balls use a number of ceramic based pellets within the ball. When introduced to water, these pellets start to release their washing power. The ph of the water is altered in a very similar way it is when detergent is used. The most noticeable similarity is the removal of oils and dirts. Many laundry balls hold the same concept, this concept is the breaking down of the natural hydrogen in the water. The pellets break the hydrogen down into small clusters. The small clusters ultimately increase the molecular motion of the water allowing it to easily penetrate the fibers within the cloths.Negative ions are also released from the washing ball pellets that makes the fiber in the clothing softer. When the fibers in clothes are soft, it makes it easier for dirt to be removed. Choosing a laundry ball, would leave you with no need for detergent. There are many different types of laundry soap; but on average, Procter and Gamble reports that the United States washes about 100 million tons of laundry annually. Thats about 35 billion loads. Reports also say there is an estimated 35,000 coin laundry establishments in the US. Using a laundry ball will cut your load down to about 4 cents per load while the average load costs about 14 cents. Newer and more Eco-friendly models of Washing Balls for Green Laundry are reportedly good for up to 750 loads of laundry. Most washing balls can be used in front and top loading machines. Ecofriendly wash balls can be found usually at places that sell eco friendly products. Laundry balls use a green laundry ingredient that carries no harmful chemicals. To replenish your wash ball, just place it in the sun for 3-5 hours a month. After excessive use; the pellets will begin to shrink in size. After the pellets get down to about half the original size, they can be replaced. Some laundry balls are constructed using absolutely no PVC or BPA; being constructed in an Eco-friendly fashio utilizing Green materials like SEBS. By providing an Eco-friendly alternative to laundry soap; Washing Balls are quickly becoming popular because they provide an economical, energy efficient and nature preserving Eco laundry cleaning solution.
