| As you drive through the neighborhood at night, have you ever noticed
how comforting it is to see the wall lantern next to your front porch?
Many of your neighbors may have beautifully landscaped yards that
include lighting designs that enhance their beauty as well as their
value. A wall lantern has many uses, including anything from lighting
your way to accenting architecture. With a little creativity, you will
be able to decide which wall lantern style best fits your needs and
budget. As you look at your overall home and landscaping, you will
want to determine what your lighting needs really are. You should go
outside at night with a flashlight and shine it in different places to
give you an idea of how it might be to add a wall lantern in different
places. This will help you know whether you need to get a brighter
style or dimmer style of wall lantern for different areas. If you like
to relax on the back porch, for instance, you may want a wall lantern
that has frosted or bubbled glass and only one light bulb inside to
provide a more intimate setting, while you may want a wall lantern on
each side of your front door to provide adequate light to see who has
come to visit. A wall lantern can attach to a wall of your home, an
outbuilding, or even to a fence. In fact, you can install a wall
lantern anywhere you have a vertical surface where you want to add
lighting. You may have a path that runs along a garden wall and want
to install a wall lantern every few feet along that wall. You may wish
to use a wall lantern that is very bright to designate the entrance to
your driveway. You can see that bright lights at the beginning of a
path or driveway or on the porch can help beautify your home as well
as provide safety for those in the area of the wall lantern. However,
for added security, you can get a wall lantern with a motion detector
function and/or timer function. You may want a wall lantern with a
motion sensor on either side of the garage so that as you drive up at
night the lights are activated and you can easily see your garage
entrance. This may also be helpful in areas of your yard or along your
house that tend to be shadowy or dark. A light will turn on when
movement occurs within the range of its sensors, and you can easily
determine what has triggered the light. A wall lantern with a timer
function can be set to turn on at dusk and off at a designated time.
With hundreds of styles and wall lantern types, you will want to
decide whether you want to go with a traditional or modern look. You
can get all different sizes and materials in the different styles of
wall lantern, so you ought to be able to find just what you are
looking for to add needed light to your home's exterior. |
