| Electrical tools come in many different classifications due to the many types that exist. Some of these electrical tools are very job specific while others, such as the hammer, can be used for many different tasks that don't even have anything to do with electrical work. No matter if they are classified as pliers, strippers and cutters, screw and nut drivers, or pouches and holders, all of these electrical tools are able to simplify work and help accomplish the various tasks that may be necessary. Some of the electrical tools located in the category of pliers include side snips, needle-nose pliers, and linesman pliers. These electrical tools are mainly used for cutting, pulling, or manipulating wires. Side snips are an effective type of electrical tools when used for cutting wires. They are specifically made for this function. Needle-nose pliers are great electrical tools because they easily manipulate wires around the screws of plugs and switch connectors. They are also great at reaching for wires that may have fallen into tight spaces. Linesman pliers are effective all-in-one electrical tools because they can cut wires, pull wires, and twist them together with or without the use of wire nuts. The next category or classification of electrical tools is strippers or cutters. These tools are the most specialized toward the field of electrical work. Wire strippers are an amazing example of the specific jobs that electrical tools can perform. They are specially designed to have pre-made areas where varying sizes of wire can fit and the insulating plastic can be removed without damaging the wire underneath. Strippers also have another area to cut wires allowing for easy and effective multi-tasking uses. Crimping electrical tools help to smash wires together often using a crimp sleeve to make sure they are all connected forcefully. Screw and nut drivers are another category of electrical tools. They include Phillips and standard-head drivers of various sizes and shapes that can be fit into any tight or open area. Some of these drivers are highly specialized electrical tools that have magnetized tips to hold screws more secure as well as lights on their bases to ensure that the workers can see what they are doing. Nut drivers are electrical tools that specialize at connecting wires in wire nuts. This helps tremendously when installing lighting fixtures, and other electrical devices during finish work. A final category of electrical tools is that of pouches and holders. These electrical tools actually make getting to all the other tools even more convenient and safe by placing them at the waist and out of harm's way. Most tool belts have enough slots to carry all of the previously mentioned tools along with extras like electricians tape and wire slicers. IF the pouch becomes too heavy and cumbersome, there are also suspenders and other accessories that make the load more manageable. Electrical tools of all classifications can show their worth by helping make any electrical task easier and reducing the time it takes to accomplish them. The variety is there to help have the right tool for the right job at any given time. |
