Lately my daddy became a widower, this meant we had to worry about Papa at the same time as mourning her death. My precious mum was the driving force in the family plus, naturally, in the friendship. Mum reminded us of the strong yet calm ladies that directed every little thing so we could not consider the impact she left in day to day life.

While our family did not live a long distance from Father, it was 45 km to stop by his house, therefore not something to be done daily. He stayed with us after mum's death yet he appeared devastated being away from his home, the precious flowers as well as his thoughts so, after one weeks, was fretting to return. I asked him to consider moving closer to us but the pained explanation made his answer clear.

Then my younger child, thought about an idea of finding a pup for her grandpa. This was a bold opinion as her grandma never thought about bringing an animal in the home. Yet Father had a kindly attraction for dogs and was always called upon to visit the neighbours’ canine pets whenever their owners went on holiday. A scheme of a pet for grandpa started to stick in our minds.

Our Family kept daily contact with Stepfather using the internet and Alicia decided to bring up the suggestion first. Granddad said maybe, meaning that he was not averse to the idea but probably would not do something about it soon. Alicia took that to mean she had carte blanche to find him a brand-new awesome companion.

She became someone with a mission and she started researching several breeds and interrogating her grandfather at each chance. We were somewhat worried, although Dad seemed to find it highly funny. One day Alicia proclaimed that the perfect dog would be a Jack Russell. Our family teased her that her conclusion was because of her grandfather’s beloved television programme – as the home pet was a Jack Russell. Be that as it may, Alicia was adamant and Dad seemed eager so we began our search. Dad did not feel up to taking on a hyper little pup and finding an older pup was extremely stressful. It was clearly a popular breed. Though Alicia declined to abandon the search.

She started fine-combing the internet and discovered one of those free-to-advertise sites all about dogs. Anyone could promote dogs and registered users could place free ads. Well Alicia did not need an invitation and, incredibly, she collected a telephone call less than a week later. An affectionate home was wanted for a four year old dog.

We all drove out to meet the dog and, after, transported the dog to Dad’s house. Dad and Bertie took a shine to each other straight away and Bertie’s past owner seemed cheerful. The good thing about the site Alicia discovered was that it is really like a newspaper, but more personal. People can search by breed, area, photos and communicate freely with buyers and sellers to answer questions before making any commitment. The friendship between Dad, the new dog and Bertie’s earlier owner was so superb that Dad and Bertie consistently visit her in her new house, so it seems that every person benefitted from this transaction.

If you are looking to buy a dog, then check out this superb free classified website that lists a wide range of "DOGS FOR SALE". Great too if you are selling a dog, advertising is free and lots of visitors come to the site.
