Ayurveda, the ancient Indian medicinal system is slowly emerging out to be a great alternate to the conventional allopathic medicines. Allopathy is more doctor centred, while ayurveda on the other hand is patient centred. This is the major difference between the principle working of both the systems. Doctors prescribing allopathic medicine rely more on restoring physical health. Ayurveda believes that the human body is made up of five basic elements and unless all are in sync, body-mind health is not achievable. It emphasises on achieving holistic healing for the body, including emotional and mental health.

The main reason for popularity of conventional allopathic medicine is that it delivers quick results, unlike the ayurvedic treatment. Ayurveda in its holistic healing approach takes longer time. Ayurveda is the next destination for whom allopathic medication has not worked out. Those opting for this system have shown remarkable changes after the treatment. In the past, untested ayurvedic medicines in the market had little takers. But, advancement in the medicine world has put the doubts to rest with lab trials and researches. Today each ayurvedic product is thoroughly tested before release in the market and so, totally safe in consumption.

Diabetes is one disease that is commonly found around the globe. The conventional medicines have proved quite ineffective in treatment and turning to Ayurveda seems the only way out. It states that consuming Indian plum or jamun is an effective solution to deal with the disease. One can have it either raw or in powdered form mixed with water or milk. Bel fruit has shown to possess anti-diabetic properties. Herbal extract of its leaves is taken with black pepper for effective results. Garlic is another one in the list of the ayurvedic herbs acting as anti-diabetic agent.

Acidity another of the problem troubling many of us, is a result of excess secretion of acids (helps in digestion) in the stomach. Ayurvedic herbs in forms of tablets, powder can be consumed to deal with acidity. Ayurvedic treatment for acidity depends on the type of individual body structure, the vatta, pita and kapha. Medication is provided in accordance to the body type.

Ayurvedic remedies work for curing common ailments to the most complex of diseases that are still a mystery to allopathy. Herbs can be consumed as juices, powder or as paste.
