There are an amazing number of people who shop and shop for a commercial smoke removal system – and in the end, they never get any farther than when they started. They compare prices and bargain shop. Still they can't help but think to themselves ‘this is too expensive – I can just live with the smoke’.
Spending $3000 - $4000 on a smoke removal system just seems like too much money to spend all at one time. While that may sound like a lot of money, when you add up all the money lost on account of having a smoky business, there's not a single business owner who can afford to NOT get a Smoke Removal System.
Now, that being said, what would you say if I told you there's a way to get a Free Commercial Smoke Removal System? Now imagine: suddenly your bar has clean, breathable air - your customers hang around longer, happily passing the hours and spending more money. The results of this is a boom in business. Does this sound too perfect to be real? Well, it is the truth - just take a step back and take a look at the bigger picture.
Here’s a secret that can make or break a business: a smoky business actually costs you cash on a daily basis! You’ll be shocked to know the "how" and "why", but most of all, you need to know "how much" you could be loosing.
So, what is the cost of NOT having a Smoke Removal System?
Well, the first costly loss is the problem of diminished health. Second hand smoke is responsible for a number of health concerns, and the impact that a smoky business it can have on your lungs and your staff’s health can really add up.
Second, the smelly clothing and hair that you leave with might be just more of a nuisance, but running home, pulling off your clothes and showering before you can feel clean again is not a good feeling.
Then there’s your employees. Most people will avoid jobs where they have to work in a smoky environment. This will actually affect the quality level of the people willing to work for you. And keep in mind that it’s the staff that represent your business to your customers. This can really mess up your profits.
Last of all, but most important, there is lost customers and lost business. Each time you overhear a customer say ‘This place is too smoky’ and leave early, be aware that another 100 or so people might not have voiced their complaint, but left for the same reason.
So, how can you tell how much cash is walking out the door? Here's an example: imagine that five people leave 1 hour earlier simply because the smoke is too heavy. In that hour they might have been there, each one of these people might have spent about $10 each on food and drink. When you add it all up, that’s $50 walking out the door! Keep in mind that this estimate is on the low side just as an example; the true loss is probably much more money. Even if this scenarion only occurs 4 nights out of the week, those 4 nights where a group of friends leaves just 1 hour early, the total is minus $400 that week alone. For each year that this happens, that loss adds up to $10,000.
Some of these customers never return. Honestly, it's really hard to add up how huge the cost is in terms of lost sales. If this is the same as the amount of money lost by people leaving 1 hour early, the loss suddenly doubles! Those lost customers have a tendency to multiply as rumors spread of a your place being “too smoky”. Word of mouth very powerful in the way it affects business. This can easily keep people from ever setting foot in your bar! Maybe 5 per night? Maybe 20? What if it's much more? You might be thinking ‘well, it’s the smokers that pays my bills - they are my faithful customers’ - this is proabably true because they are the only ones who WILL come into your bar. The truth is that smokers are a minority - only 21% of people in the US smoke. So catering to them is going to limit your potential income right off the bat. The statistic shows that for every 1 smoking customer you have, there are 3 non-smokers might have come in if it weren't for the smoke.
By not have a Smoke Removal System, you might be loosing $10,000 - $15,000 - $20,000 per year! That is an enormous loss!
Now that you know how much the losses add up to, let's take a look at what you can expect to pay for a highly effective solution. When I say “high effective”, I mean something that is going to work rather than just be another band aid to cover up the issue.
Our Smoke Removal Systems range in price from about $2,000 to $8,000 depending on the square footage, ceiling height and levels of smoke in your business. If your building is larger - or if you have really heavy, dense smoke - more power is going to be needed. Since there are no one-size-fits-all solutions in life, it is really important to have a solution that is tailored to your specific space.
What does this mean to you? Within the first year, the most expensive smoke removal system will have already paid for itself! Simply installing and turning on your smoke eater will allow non-smokers to stay later, clean up the reputation of your bar being “too smoky”, and attract new business.
Want to speed up the return on your investment? Try hanging a “Clean Air Establishment” sign on the door just so that people know that your bar is friendly to both smokers and non-smokers. Encourage bartenders and staff talk up the Smoke Removal System to customers - this helps to spread the news about the change in atmosphere. Ask customers to bring their non-smoking friends along with them – maybe even use this encouragement in your advertising campaign.
Now, here's how you take it to the next level. Invite the local newspaper to visit and report on the new, clean, breathable environment at your bar. Try your hand at writing a press release – if you need help, just ask us for a press release template. Pop postcards in the mail to past customers, and put some out at the bar and on tables. Make sure that you mention the Smoke Removal System in coupons or advertisements.
Here's some more suggestions! Throwing a Grand Reopening can help get attention - celebrate your new, improved air quality. The more you hype this up, the more chance you have of winning back customers and gaining new faces among the "regulars". You can hand out flyers (again, you can help you by supplying the basic template for those).
You could recapture every dime of the money spent on your Smoke Removal System in a matter of a few months. Each month after that, you can pocket all the extra income earned by your Smoke Removal System. So, when I told you that you could get a Smoke Removal System for free, this is what I was talking about.
In the end, if you work with me or find someone else to get the smoke problem fixed, it’s really okay. The most important thing that you can do for yourself is to just make the decision and get the right system for your business. I can guarantee that your lungs, your staff, your customers – not to mention your wallet - will thank you!
