What is certification? This means that your chosen diamond has been certified by an independent laboratory – such as the GIA (Gemmological Institute of America) - although there are others. Your report will ensure that you know what you are buying in terms of characteristics and quality of your diamond – avoiding those that have been artificially treated or buying ‘diamonds’ made with substitutes such as white sapphire.
Understanding the finer details of your report may require some additional reading but this will be worth it to give you peace of mind that you have paid the appropriate price for the diamond you have.
