Diversifying your online income is one of the main things you must know when you have a website.

Supposing most of your ads are with Google AdSense. Let’s suppose it makes up 90% of your online earnings. Heaven forbid if Google should ever cancel your account! What would you do if you lose 90% of your website’s revenue? Can you recover your losses immediately? For most individuals, they would not.

If you have a website, you can diversify by using pay-per-click, direct leads, CPA or cost per action or by receiving commissions from promoting products or services.

You just need to observe the performance of your website. One way of doing this is by observing which banners and ads are functioning well and which ones are not. It's also a fine idea to alternate your banners every few months anyway to get "fresh blood" on your site. You must to do this because your readers will soon overlook all your ads and banners as they become “banner blind”.

Opening other websites is another way of broadening one’s income. At present, I have several websites that I create earnings from. Just about 4 months back, Google banned one of my websites from their search engine! This is a common incident among Internet Marketers. It seems that they regard my site as a link farm because of the numerous outgoing links to sponsor ads. Just then, I was making around $1000 per month for that site. Can you imagine the disaster if I didn’t have my other websites to pick up the slack?

Having them on several servers is another way of diversifying your websites. These days hosting is dirt cheap. Supposing you throw one or two of them up on a $5.99 a month server and pay for a year's worth of hosting, you're doing the right thing. Aside from the search engine benefits, you also need not worry if one of your servers will go down.

Just remember to always look for new streams of income for striving to discover additional ways of receiving money online is worth it in the end.
