One of the best things that you can do to your audiences for your stickers is to surprise them. Believe me, most people are actually bored with stickers and other types of physical prints due to the more prominent and flashy digital visual mediums of today. If you can surprise your audiences with your own custom stickers, then that would be a great achievement indeed.
The more you can engage and surprise those people, the more successful and memorable your color stickers will be. So let me teach you a few good and classic moves that will still surely surprise your sticker audiences. Just follow the items on the list below and see how you may be able to apply them to your own custom stickers.
1. Use a totally outrageous shape.
Most people expect stickers to be rectangular. We are all set in this way since we know that a rectangular shape is the most efficient configuration that you can go for with stickers. Now, there are probably a lot more oddly shaped stickers out there that you may have seen, but in most cases and with most people, a rectangular sticker is what is expected.
That is why a sticker with an outrageous shape is an absolutely exciting and surprising idea even today. People will still stop, look and stare at stickers that are unusually shaped. They might even get excited depending on what kind of appealing shape you have developed. It all depends on your creativity and of course your audience research, but if chosen right, that outrageous shape should make your stickers the talk of the town.
2. Use a totally unusual size.
Size can also be something that you can use to surprise and excite people. Using especially large sticker configurations will always invoke that very distinct and memorable reaction from audiences.
No one can deny the existence of a very large sticker and people will have no real choice but to look at and read a large color sticker that they in their vicinity. I know I will be surprised and excited to see a very large stickers, and would no doubt read it just to see what it is all about.
3. Mimic something else with your stickers.
A more creative trick however with stickers that should also be exciting and powerful is for you to use stickers with designs that mimic other stuff.
For example, I have seen stickers that mimic light switches, door knobs, wall holes, insects and even hands, legs or even heads. These types of sticker designs are certainly surprising and of course eye catching in their own right. If you think you can adopt this and match this to your theme, I really recommend that you try this type of design concept. Believe me, it really turns heads.
4. Apply new and unusual materials.
You can also surprise your readers by applying new and unusual materials to the actual paper of your stickers. It can be as simple as adding glittering or metallic inks.
It can also be as complicated as using more embedded and embossed elements that go on top and even beneath the sticker paper. These additional features add a more robust and three dimensional feel to your stickers that is certainly eye catching, interesting and of course exciting and surprising in their won right.
5. Be simple, direct and HONEST.
Finally, you can also just go the total opposite with the suggestions above and just be simple, direct and honest. That is right! For many readers, being simple, direct and honest can actually be fairly surprising with stickers.
There is some beauty and excitement to be had in just getting the whole message straight out from stickers. So if you have been designing stickers that are too intricate and unusual for the most part, you might want to try something simpler.
So why do not you try surprising your audiences a bit? Use some of the great sticker design tricks above and see how you will be able to excite and surprise them.
