Creating a layout for menu printing can commonly get tight. If you plan in limiting the size of your menu printing for easy reading, while at the same time fitting your whole menu content, you might have trouble fitting everything in. If you are facing this kind of trouble with your own color menus, then you are reading the right guide. Here, in this article, I will teach how to fit your whole menu when your menu printing has limited space. Let us start with the basics of managing your font sizes.

Managing your font sizes. The first obvious thing you can do to fit your content for menu printing is to manage your font sizes. One of the things you should know about this is that you are actually not limited with the “set sizes” that you see in your desktop publishing software.

Commonly, you will see font sizes in even numbered points such as 12pt, 14pt, 18pt and 22pt. However, you can actually set your own values for points when necessary for menu printing. Just type the value you want in the field provided for font sizes and you can set the most ideal font size that lets you fit everything for your color menus. You can set odd numbered points such as 15pt or you can actually add decimal values as well. In fact, any number value can actually be entered to give you full control.

Concise menu descriptions. Sometimes, it might be unavoidable to cut down on the actual words of your menu content. To do this without actually removing the essence of each menu item is to be concise with your menu descriptions. Do not use long winded and flowery descriptions of your menu items if it is not absolutely necessary. Be concise and shorten words and descriptions to their most efficient lengths. If you focus on this aspect of your menus for a while, you may be able to actually cut the size of your menu content by 40%.

Cutting down on menu images. Now, while images might be a good move for menu printing, sometimes they can actually take up too much space in your layout. To rationalize your layout and fit everything you need, it is wise to just cut down your menu images or resize them. You can just emphasize your flagship or featured menu items in large images while the rest can just be resized to smaller images or even cut altogether. As long as you display the most important images in large size, your menu printing should be okay.

With these simple techniques, you should be very surprised at the amount of space you can save for menu printing. You do not have to worry about trying to fit your content anymore for your color menus.
