'Tis the season to be jolly? What about all the colds, influenza, depression, weight gain that comes along with these cold, dark winter months? How can we keep the holiday cheer long enough to last through dark days of winter?

Well, it's easy…sort of. You just need to stay healthy, stay active, and lose weight. The reason why people get sick, depressed, and gain extra pounds during the winter is because the cold weather makes people slack off a little and lose focus on keeping up with their healthy lifestyle.

Here are a few tips that can help you stay healthy (and happy!) until the spring flowers blossom after the next half a year:

1. Keep on exercising. Cold weather doesn't mean that you get to hibernate on your couch and ditch the exercise routine. Go for a jog in the middle of the day when the weather is warmest, or join a gym—it's never cold enough in there!

2. See a therapist. Yes, your depression could be real. It's called Seasonal Mood Disorder and if it's bringing you down then it needs attention. Some people even take for a few months, just to get them through the depression that comes along with the winter season.

3. Eat well! Lose weight if necessary. Don’t use those bulky sweaters as an excuse to gain weight.

4. From an online drugstore BEFORE flu strikes your family. At the first sign of flu-like symptoms, start taking Tamiflu. It'll prevent your symptoms from getting worse and turning into a full-blown case of the flu. It works for swine flu, too.
