Vauxhall sold 2,915 cars in November 2008 as the credit crunch took its toll on the car industry, but 2009's figures are also superior to 2007, when Vauxhall sold 5,901 cars.
The Insignia has also led D-sector sales, with nearly 39,000 Insignias sold in the UK over 2009.

Sales of Vauxhall commercial vehicles also nearly doubled in the month.

Vauxhall's performance across individual UK regions was also strong in November, and for 2009 on the whole.

The Vauxhall Corsa supermini and the Astra hatchback were placed in the top ten best sellers for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland year-to-date.

And the Corsa is Scotland's best-selling car over 2009, with 12,363 registrations north of the border.

In England Vauxhall has sold 63,369 Corsa models, 51,744 Astra models and 30,060 Insignia models so far in 2009.
The all-new Vauxhall Astra is now on sale in the UK.
