Tru Chocolate is a network marketing company that offers, not only organic and healthy chocolate, but also an opportunity to grow your own Tru Chocolate business. This can certainly be a good opportunity, and you really can succeed if you just learn how to do it right, but unfortunately you will not learn this from the company. They tell you to use techniques that have been proven wrong by 95-97 % of the people that joins Tru Chocolate, and any other network marketing company for that matter.

So what do they tell you? They tell you to make a list of EVERYBODY you know, then you should give out free samples, hand out business cards and flyers, talk to friends and family, go to home meetings and all that stuff. More important they tell you that EVERYONE is your prospects! Now THAT is just NOT true and every other industry knows that. Also NO other industry is using the techniques that the network marketing industry is using, and why is that? Well, it really makes good sense, because of the VERY high failure rate in the network marketing industry.

If you want to grow your Tru Chocolate business, you need to learn how to properly prospect. Marketing is ALL about knowing your target market. It has not EVER been about convincing people that what you have is SO fantastic. To illustrate what I'm trying to say I've made this example:

Picture this: One of your friends walks up to you with a bottle in his hand saying "MAN this juice is the BEST juice ever - not only does it taste FANTASTIC it also gives me SO much energy, you should really buy some bottles!" Your friend seems very exited, so it must be a good juice, and you answer "Okay, I will get back to you if I want some." But this was not the answer your friend wanted, so he says "Really this juice is SO awesome, and you can't get it anywhere else, you have to buy it RIGHT NOW, just sign here." I would certainly not be the least interested, even though I was a minute ago, and I belief this is how most would feel.

Now picture this: another friend of yours comes to you with a similar bottle in his hand, saying "Man, this juice is really great, it really tastes fantastic and it gives me so much more energy." Most likely, you will start asking buying questions; where he got that juice, how much it cost, and other questions like that. He will answer your questions, and just before he walks away he says "This juice has really help me, if you should be interested, just say so, I highly recommend it."

Now take a look at the example above and take a moment and think, who of those two friends would you rather be? The second one, right? Well, I believe this would be most people's answer, and it makes good sense. What doesn't make any sense is, that Tru Chocolate, and other network marketing companies, tell you to be the first friend. Can you see why so many are failing?

But with that said you CAN succeed! You just have to know your audience, find your target market and ONLY spend time on people who already have an interest in what you have to offer. This way you will just fulfil needs that people already have. This way, growing your Tru Chocolate business will be much more fun. Once you recognize that doing what the company tells you is wrong and you take the time to learn how to get targeted leads, you WILL be on your way to success with your Tru Chocolate business.
