| What are Ovarian Cysts? |

Have you ever heard of ovarian cysts? These are small sacs filled with liquids that develop in a woman's ovaries. Although a lot of the cysts are safe, some of it can become ruptured causing internal bleeding along with extreme ache. If this problem arises, you need to undergo surgical procedure performed by an experienced surgeon to remove the cyst. Here are a few causes that explain why ovarian cysts develop.
Why Ovarian Cyst Takes place
Normally, women have a pair of tiny ovaries, as big as a walnut, located on each side of the uterus used to store and release egg cells. One of the ovaries produces an ovum, encased in a tiny sac called follicle, each month that starts the month to month menstrual period of the lady. During the ovulation period, if the egg doesn't release the egg, it gets bigger and bigger by absorbing fluid. This fluid filled sac then develops in a cyst. The cyst gets filled with more and more fluid which eventually becomes weak and finally ruptures.
Ways to Find Ovarian Cysts
Ovarian cysts become visible through the use of ultrasound. The fluid filled sacs look as tiny bubbles in the monitor of an ultra sound device. Depending on the size of the cyst, the doctor will decide if it will rupture or it won't. If the cyst is larger than 5-6 cm, the wall surfaces of the sac will not hold the fluid within resulting in what we call like a leak. The usual treatment for oversized cysts is laparoscopy.
Ovarian Cysts Symptoms
How will someone come to know if he has ovarian cyst? Below are some of the symptoms associated with the condition:
o Intensive, sharp, and sudden Pelvic pain
o Irregular periods of Menstruation
o A feeling of strain or heaviness in the lower abdomen or pelvic region
o Excessive pain for long time in pelvic during periods
o Pelvic pain felt following a tough exercise or Intercourse
o Nausea and vomiting
o Spotty bleeding
o Infertility

Ovarian cysts can happen to any woman at any age. When become ruptured, they can bring in very uncomfortable symptoms and severe pain that is mostly felt during menstruation. A lot of the ovarian cysts though are benign and wouldn't lead to the development of cancer. Just after a few week, these will disappear on its own. There are many way to reduce yourself from the ache associated with ruptured ovarian cysts however, surgical process is the best option to cure this disorder without and avoid future complications.
